Bottle feeding babies can be both enjoyable and confusing. Playtex baby bottles help iron out many problems with the VentAire Advance system.

There are many styles of baby bottles available on the market. Parents who choose to bottle feed their babies, either full time or part time, may find the choice to be overwhelming. Playtex VentAire bottles help remove a number of obstacles, while making it easy for babies to bottle feed.

What Makes the Playtex VentAire Bottle Different?

The VentAire bottles are designed to allow air into the bottle not from the nipple, but from the base of the bottle. This, in theory, will keep fewer bubbles from the milk, enabling the baby to take in more liquid with less air.

The system uses a removable base, with a silicone ring, which keeps the milk from leaking out, while allowing air to be pulled in. The bottles themselves are bent to allow the caregiver to feed the baby semi-upright, which can help aid digestion, prevent burgeoning acid reflux, and may help to prevent ear infections.

The bottles are available in two widths, sizes and nipple sizes. The wider nipples are ideal for bottle feeding newborns, for babies switching between breast and bottle, as well as transitioning from breast to bottle. Babies who have a hard time latching on to a smaller nipple may find the wider nipple easier to handle.

The bottles are also available in a more standard nipple size, and in 7 and 9 ounce varieties. This allows parents to find a bottle size that fits their baby’s needs. All Playtex baby bottles are also BPA free and clearly marked so that new parents are able to see exactly how much their child is drinking.

Potential Drawbacks to the Playtex VentAire Bottles

While the VentAire bottles are designed to be easy for babies to drink from, some of these design features come at a price to parents and caregivers. With the removable bottom section of the bottle, comes another area to clean, as milk can get below the silicon ring and congeal there, making it important for parents to remove both the bottom section and the ring to clean after each use.

Putting the bottle back together again incorrectly can lead to leaks, both when mixing formula, and when feeding the baby. The silicon ring needs to be firmly pushed into place on the bottom of the bottle before attaching the bottom to the mid-section of the bottle. The bottom section and the nipple ring both need to be tightly reattached. Failure to attach each piece as tightly as possible will result in a slow dribble of milk from either end.

The bend near the top of the bottle can make mixing formula a careful affair as well. Most formula instructions require the water to be added first, to a specific marker on the bottle, before adding the formula. With one section of the bottle significantly higher than the other, and not that far above the maximum marker for the water, it can mean that powdered formula will tumble out of the bottle before it has a chance to dissolve into the water.

Despite these drawbacks, however, the ease of finding a bottle system and nipple size that can meet the child's needs far outweighs the learning curve needed for parents in using the bottles.

The Playtex VentAire system of bottles is baby friendly, durable and can rise to the challenge of meeting most babies’ needs. Find them wherever bottles are sold.
