Brands and manufacturers of plastic but environmentally friendly and safe baby bottles, such as Adiri bottles and BornFree bottles, guaranteed not to have Bisphenol A.

With the recent news about the danger of baby feeding bottles containing Bisphenol A (BPA), an organic compound found in plastic that has been proven to be hazardous to human health, more companies are producing BPA free bottles. Here are some of the best baby bottles BPA free.

Adiri™ Baby Bottles

The Adiri Natural Nurser™ baby bottle has won awards from iParenting Media and Medical Design Excellence. The design was a group effort of doctors, mothers and lactation experts. The bottle nipples, are shaped like a mother’s breast and fully integrated so that nipple and bottle are all-in-one (bottle is filled from the bottom). Adiri prides itself on its unique Petal™ vent system. Since ingesting air can cause gas (colic), the Petal system lets air flow slowly into the bottle as baby drinks, preventing the nipple from collapsing and causing the baby to swallow air instead of formula. $24.99 for two 8-ounce bottles.

Born Free Bottles

The Born Free bottles also have an innovative air vent that prevents the baby from ingesting air. The five or nine ounce bottles are also available in glass, and regular or wide neck. The nipples come as level 1, 2 or 3, for babies 0 to 3 months, 3 to 6 months, and 6 months and up. $19.99 for two 9-ounce bottles.

Green To Grow Bottles

Green to Grow baby bottles are available in five or ten ounce size, regular or wide neck. The nipples are nitrosamine-free silicone (nitrosamine is a chemical compound that can be carcinogenic and is found in most rubber products) and there are three nipple flow speeds available such as beginner (0-3 months), intermediate (3-6 months) and expert (6 months plus). $10.99 for one 10-ounce bottle.

NurturePure™ Baby Bottles

NurturePure only makes glass baby bottles, which are definitely free from BPA and other dangerous chemicals. The silicone nipples that come with the bottles are latex-free (latex is a high allergen), free of nitrosamines and also come in three levels of flow. Even the plastic storage lid is BPA free. $10.99 for three 8-ounce bottles.

Think Baby Bottles

ThinkBaby bottles are made of polypropylene, the number 5 plastic, which is safe and can be recycled. Like many others, they too have a patented venting system, in this case built into the nipple. This reduces the intake of air, which means not only less gas for baby but also less spit up. The nipples are also made from silicone and there are seven styles and flows to choose from. The bottle’s hourglass design makes it easy to hold. $16.99 for two 9-ounce bottles.

The use of Bisphenol A, nitrosamines, latex and other unsafe compounds were causing toxic baby bottles. All of these BPA free baby bottles are a safe option not only for baby but for the environment as well.
