A list of some of the best books for babies.

If you are looking for some great books to read to your baby, here are a few to check out:

  • Maybe My Baby by Irene O'Book - This is a sweet rhyming story complete with plenty of photos of babies.
  • The Piggy in the Puddle by Charlotte Pomerantz - This book is full of silly rhymes that will amuse your baby. It is a little longer than some books, so you may want to break it up into two reading sessions.
  • The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle - This book is a classic with repetition and bold colors to captivate your baby.
  • Love You Forever by Robert N. Munsch - This is a sweet story of a mother's love. Repetitive and soothing, this is a good bedtime book though it may be best broken into two sessions. A word of caution, though - this one is a real tearjerker.
  • Ten Little Fingers by Annie Kubler - This is a fun rhyming book that encourages hand play.
  • Counting Kisses by Karen Katz - A sweet and fun story that will have you kissing your baby from head to toe before it's over!
  • Marvin K. Mooney Will You Please Go Now! by Dr. Seuss - This silly story is full of rhymes and fun nonsense words but is one of Dr. Seuss' lesser-known gems.
  • The Best Mouse Cookie by Laura Numeroff - Are you familiar with If You Give a Mouse a Cookie? If so, you will enjoy its board-book counterpart for younger "readers."
