Dr. William and Martha Sears are the parenting experts who advocate the practice of "Attachment Parenting." As such, most parents either love them or hate them. It is no surprise, then, that The Baby Book is one that most parents will either love or hate.

If you are a fan of the Sears and their methods, you will find this book immensely useful. The underlying theme throughout the book is how to practice attachment parenting as you raise your baby through age two.

This is not to say that the book contains little else. The book contains very basic and practical information such as how to introduce solid foods, how to handle temper tantrums, and how to deal with colic. If you are not practicing attachment parenting, however, you may feel that The Baby Book does not apply to you. For instance, if you are a mother that works outside the home, a father who stays home, or a parent who chooses to bottlefeed, you may get the impression that the Sears would disapprove of your parenting methods.

The bottom line is that fans of the Sears will love this book. Others may not be so impressed.
