Babies may be small but they can sure create a lot of laundry. Establishing a routine can help you keep up with the daily laundry load.

Infants and toddlers create a lot of laundry. Newborns can be deceptive. Despite how tiny their clothes our, they can create more laundry than all the adults in the home combined. In the first few weeks after a new baby comes home laundry is generally the last thing on your mind. Hopefully you have some help for the first few weeks but if you don't, the best option is to prevent yourself from becoming overwhelmed. Doing even one load of laundry a day can help you to stay on top of things enough to keep your newborn in spit up free clothing. As you recover from childbirth, you can develop more of a routine. I find that it works well to start a load of laundry in the morning when I wake up, switch the laundry when my kids take their morning nap and spend a few minutes putting the laundry away. I switch the last load of laundry again after dinner so that the washing machine is empty for the night.

With any luck, you invested in a great washing machine before your baby was born. If you find that your washing machine can't quite stand up to the increased work load you may want to look at some online washing machine reviews to determine the best machine for your needs. LG has some front loading washing machines that work well and save water at the same time. If you are considering replacing your existing washing machine you may want to look into one that has a high capacity for all of those extra loads of laundry.
