Other mothers can provide a great source of friendship and support.

New mothers often have a strong desire to find other mothers in the same position as they are to share experiences and struggles. New stay-at-home moms have an even bigger adjustment to make because they are getting used to a new lifestyle as well as a new baby. Socializing with other moms can provide an opportunity for friendship and a wonderful source of encouragement on the days when you just feel too overwhelmed to go on.

Playgroups are typically formed for older children who are interested in playing with each other but playgroups for mothers of infants can be very helpful for forming friendships and helping new moms get out of the house.
