A parent's review of The Fisher Price Healthy Care Booster

Before my first baby was born my brand new high chair sat, nice and clean in the corner of my kitchen, waiting for his arrival. Now, 4 years and a baby and a half later it has been banished to the basement with a curse on all high chair manufacturers because I am convinced that they added all those extra little nooks and crannies just to be funny.

A few months ago I decided to simplify my life and the first place I looked was my consistently food encrusted high chair. I was spending a half an hour after every meal scraping food out of cracks and wiping down legs and covers just to have the entire situation repeat itself again in less than 2 hours. The floor beneath my high chair looked like a scrap pile and I was tired. I cleaned the high chair up one last time and went out and bought the Fisher Price Healthy Care Booster. I have to admit that I did not have high hopes that it would really improve the situation but if I had to clean my other high chair one more time I was liable to have a breakdown so I gave it a try.

My baby was a little older when I first started using the Healthy Care Booster. He was 15 months old but in hindsight I should have made the switch when he was much younger. He loved being at the table with the rest of the family and that alleviated a lot of the food throwing that used to accompany every meal. He felt more of a part of family meals and received more immediate attention from every member of the family and I suspect throwing food was his way of getting us to pay attention to him.

Cleaning the Fisher Price Healthy Care Booster is so much simpler than cleaning my full sized highchair. The plastic wipes down easily and the chair itself is smooth and does not have all the extra places for a curious infant to put their dinner. The chair has several height settings that allows a sitting infant of almost any height to eat at the table comfortably. The chair comes with an tray that you can attach for eating away from the table and fits easily in the dishwasher. My full sized high chair also had a dishwasher safe tray but it was so large that it was often easier to hand wash.

I have been very satisfied with the Fisher Price Healthy Care Booster and am seriously considering buying a second one for my next baby when he is sitting on his own.
